THE BREAKOUTS YOU AS A WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP WILL NOT WANT TO MISS (OR IF YOU HAVE WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP ON YOUR TEAM)!

THE BREAKOUTS YOU AS A WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP WILL NOT WANT TO MISS (OR IF YOU HAVE WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP ON YOUR TEAM)!

Next week is my favorite week of the year in ministry!  It’s Orange season and that means Orange Conference 2019!!!  Orange Conference is a resource rich, leadership heavy, laugh-your-guts out, friend-making reunion that never disappoints… simply, I CAN’T WAIT!

Over the years, I’ve been stretched, challenged and grown as a leader because of these few days in Atlanta.  One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is to go with a focus in mind.  Whether it’s to refine Children’s Ministry or Student Ministry, lead as a NextGen leader or get a grip on family ministry as a senior leader, this is the best place to learn.

Because there are so many GREAT break-outs and main sessions, if you don’t have a specific area that you want/need to concentrate on during the conference, you might leave feeling like you just drank from a fire hydrant.  This year my focus is leading at the next level as an Executive Pastor.  What will your focus be this year?

If you’re a women in leadership or have women on your team, don’t miss these breakouts:

Thursday, May 2nd

4:45 – 5:45pm. LEAD MINISTRY AS A WOMAN WITH CINDY FIALA

This is a tough, but necessary conversation that is gaining attention and significance.  Even trying to find the right headline for this break-out was tough.  Here’s the thing, it doesn’t have to be tough or weird or awkward.  If you’re a woman in ministry or lead women in ministry, then you are probably familiar with the tensions of trying to lead in a space where you or your female team members may not necessarily feel the most empowered. But you aren’t alone, and there is strength in numbers. Everyone has something to offer that is unique! Looking for a place to engage in the conversation and be inspired? Sign up! You’ll be glad you did.

Wednesday, May 1st (YouLead Day)

The Enneagram:  It’s everyone’s favorite number soup/personality type model!  Whether you’ve studied to perfectly understand your type (ah-hm, One), or you’re just along for the ride because, hey, you never know when a breakout could break out into a flash mob (looking at you, Seven), your Enneagram type can provide valuable tools for you to use in ministry.  Join us to explore how your personality type relates to the work God has called you to do each day.  Visit exploreyourtype.com to discover your own number prior to the breakout.

Thursday, May 2nd

3 – 4pm. USE MOTIVATION AND ACTION TO LEAD TO FASTER CHANGE AND HAPPIER PEOPLE WITH JON ACUFF

Jon Acuff has spent the last few years traveling the globe teaching organizations how to finish their goals.  Along the way, he realized there are two things every team wants:  Faster Change and Happier People.  The words are always different.  Sometimes they need more “innovation” or a “quicker response to what our community needs,” but the result is the same, our world is changing and we need to have a voice in that change.  “Happier people” might mean, “more engage staff members” or “volunteers who catch the mission,” but the result is the same, people who are bought in.  How do you accomplish these seemingly different goals?  With motivation and action.  Come learn practical steps to grow your ministry while at the same time growing your people in what is sure to be a hilarious breakout from Jon Acuff.

Thursday, May 2nd

3 – 4pm LEAD THROUGH DISTRACTION WITH CLAY SCROGGINS

Between ministry work, the busyness of our personal lives and social media, we can easily fall victim to distraction.  In fact, you might have taken a pause from the that last sentence to read an incoming email, order dinner, or help your daughter with homework.  Distraction is a problem, but it’s not without solutions!  Join Clay Scroggins as he guides you through practical ways to  “slay the beast.”

I realize I’ve included lots of options, but these are a few that I’m super excited about and some speakers that I respect and love.  Give me a “holla” at OC19, I’d love to meet you in person and hear about all that God is doing in your church, your ministry and in you!

You can find me at the YouLead/Ministry Boost booth or suite at the arena, let’s get some face-time!
